If a rider can understand the horses body and how it functions, then they will be more tolerant and not so eager to drill the horse to death and tire them out. This is why Classical Equitation attracts me so much. You have to gain calmness, balance and coordination before attempting to do the fancy stuff. This DVD shows you, starting with ground work, the basic training of the horse regardless of discipline.

Ann Turner has been with horses since she was a child, and from the days of running Dalkeith Riding school where she retrained Off the track Thoroughbreds, to when her Secretariat son took her to short list for the Pan Am Games in Individual Dressage in 1990, Ann's passion for horses has never wavered. "I've learned so much from horses, and they have changed my life in so many ways, I feel duty bound now to pay it forward, and share my knowledge however I can, to help others gain an understanding of themselves as well as their horses". She believes in sounds basics- "this is why Classical Equitation attrachs me so much, is the fact that you have to gain calmness, balance and coordination before attempting to do the fancy stuff" Ann says "and this is the foundation for any athlete"

With a background in Sports Massage for Horses, Ann brings her knowledge of injuries and how they affect performance into her teaching, as often the problems the horse is having under saddle have a physical cause. "It the ride can understand the horse's body and how it functions, then they will be more tolerant and not so eager to drill the horse to death and tire them out"
